We are not sure what exactly you are asking for or the precise issue you are having. But you can control how much data is initially downloaded for a new symbol by changing the Maximum Historical Intraday Data to Download. Refer to the following: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DataSourceSettings.php#MaxHistoricalIntradayDaysToDownload For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

its when i download a new Symbol . Big one like SPY or AAPL. It freeze the subinstance till the download is done because my chartbook is too much to handle while downloading. That is why I am asking if their is a way to make the download happen without loading the chart , when we do a Swap in the Chart with /aapl. thanks |

There is not a way to do specifically what you are asking. Another option is to add the symbols that you will be reviewing to the Intraday File Update List, that way they are downloading data on a more frequent basis so the amount of download will not take much time. Refer to the information here: Global Settings Menu: Intraday File Update List (Global Settings menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
