Noticed that there is an issue with very high memory issues in SC. This has recently increased from 3GB from 11-13.5GB at all times.
I have run through your help page, decreased the update rate, amount of data held, and this has no effect. I have also set pages to Destroy charts when hidden. I had no issues a few weeks ago but I am thinking post updates the problem has surfaced.

I have a high powered workstation HP z440 6 core PC with 32GB Ram. Cpu usage is minimal

Any ideas and help would be great. Like I have said i have already worked through some of the help pages.

SC is becoming unusable.

Have you tried previous versions to confirm your thinking it is related to updates? If you can narrow it down to a specific version change Sierra may be able to determine the cause.

Refer to:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.31 - System Memory Not Releasing

Definitely the problem is not with Sierra Chart itself or newer versions. You need to find out what is causing the increase in memory. If the above help topic is not helping you, then try removing studies and closing charts to isolate where the problem is.

hello, I am having the same issue, it seemed to me the upgrade rectified the hi memory usage but the problem has returned.
Memory usage is +8GB.

Is there anything else I can do? The PC is drowning and SC is irresponsive.

Is the high memory usage systemwide, or is it specific to the Sierra Chart process?

For performance issues, refer to help topic 30:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

And we also definitely recommend increasing your system memory. Double or triple its size.
