This page in the documentation refers: Sierra Chart Historical Data Service: Included Markets The CBOE indexes (eg $VIX and $SPX) will not load historical data when using SC Data - All Services. I get a red error message on the chart screen saying not authorised for this instrument. The S&P indexes load just fine eg $INX. |

CBOE made a change a few months ago so that historical data is no longer available unless you pay for it. If you want to get the CBOE Indices data, you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the CBOE Indices exchange. Refer to the information here (including Setup Instructions): Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed Although there is not another option for the $VIX, you could use the SPX500 symbol which is the CFD for the S&P 500 as a replacement for the $SPX. We offer that data at no extra cost. Refer to the information here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SCRealTimeFOREX.php#FuturesAlternative For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
