received a message today regarding the use of SC with FXCM UK Ltd. Due to brexit, EU citizens were instructed to move their accounts to FXCM EU Ltd. Additionally, FXCM EU indicated that the use of SC with FXCM EU Ltd is not possible. Has SC received any info and if so, what can be done?

We definitely do not believe this is true:
FXCM EU indicated that the use of SC with FXCM EU Ltd is not possible.

But your trading account would have to be assigned to the FIX connection that we have for FXCM EU. There is a form to complete for that. You can ask FXCM about this.

Also if you want to trade cash Forex have a look at Interactive Brokers:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service

Or consider trading CME Forex futures through this service:

The FXCM migrated my account to FXCM EU after the Brexit too. The former UK account worked with Sierrachart well for a year, and they said, that nothing will be changed. After migration they called me and informed that with my new EU acconut I can not trade with SierraChart platform. I've tried to open a position, and it really doesn't work. Do you know, when will be able to trade again with SierraChart? What I have to do? Can you offer me an other borkerage firm, where I can trade from EU with Indices ETF-s?

just received another confirmation today from an account rep Nikolay Dinev. First instance was by a junior financial services rep Veselina Bimbalova on 25.01.2021

Does SC plan to reach out to FXCM and clarify or should I start looking for a different brokerage or have to give up this functional and practical charting software of which I have been using for years?

For an alternative to FXCM have a look at Interactive Brokers or LMAX or trading CME Forex futures or other futures:

I contacted LMAX. Either you have 10k or 1k through an introducer broker. I am assuming SC only operates with LMAX directly and no introducer brokers. Is this correct? This is difficult. Even though I have an account with IB, I find them lacking in their data feed and their pricing structure would mean even though I would trade a micro lot, it would cost me 4.00 dollars minimum a round trade. I looked at the next closest best charting platform compared to SC what FXCM offers which would be Ninja Trader. It is lacking. I forgot to mention how comfortable I am with SC and appreciate the functionality and flexibility.

LMAX and LMAX New Zealand (if you want to escape ESMA rules) through an introducing broker like https://fxmtf.com are compatible with SC

What we would say in this regard, is that as long as your account is set up on the LMAX system, even if it is through an introducing broker you can still use Sierra Chart with that LMAX account.

Do have a look at LMAX New Zealand. We do support accounts through them.

We talked today to our French Rep. at FXCM and she said that, having talked to FXCM's CEO, access to FXCM accounts will be impossible from a Sierra Chart platform from Feb 26th onward. This is true everywhere in Europe, whatever the country. This had been mentionned to us by FXCM for the first time at the end of last year and was supposed to be confirmed or not based on ongoing discussions between SC and FXCM.

Does SC confirm?

As far as LMAX is concerned, we will NOT use them, their spread for the Eurex Dax being 4pts!! i.e. 4 x FXCM's spread!

Thank you,

Regards.

talked to a sales rep in Germany yesterday, 15.02.2021. He told me:

Thank you for your email. For now we only offer MT4 or Trading Station. However, in the near future we will implement our specialty platforms again. I cant give a exact timing but it will be soon available again.

Best Regards,

Thank you cfuture!

I received a phone call this morning from FXCM confirming that SC is not supported anymore. She would not know the reason why though. She said it may come from SC who did not want to accept the new switch or from FXCM who was considering there were not enough SC clients to maintain the connection with SC.

She was pushing TradingView instead (over MT4).

Yes, I will miss SC very much.

I am an engineer in computer development. I know that adding a new type of connection and maintaining it is a lot of work.

At the moment it's difficult to be a CFD trader because SC can not do much for us ... And yet I will be ready to change broker if necessary ...

mikebravo,

You can develop a program that writes your order instructions to a text file and have that tex file beeing read by MT4 that all broker support. It is not as clean as if SC was properly interfaced with the broker but it works. And MT4 has very neat reporting functions that are not available within SC.

Regards.
