Want to run trader workstation on one computer and sierra chart on another

Hello, I am just wondering if I can run TWS on one computer and run Sierra Chart on another computer. Both computers would be on the same internet connection. How would I go about connecting Sierra Chart to TWS when TWS is on the separate computer. Thank you for any guidance you can provide, |

Pretty easy actually... At IB setup two users, userXXX and userXXY with trading rights to your one IB account. This setup can be run on the same computer or different computers (I actually do both at times). Sierra Chart - Setup Sierra Chart & Interactive Brokers to use the API Gateway and userXXX with these instruction Interactive Brokers Trading Service Interactive Brokers - Launch and login to TWS as normal with userXXY. Hello, Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure if this is what I am looking to do. My goal is to have TWS run on one computer and only Sierra Chart on the other (with Sierra Chart being linked to TWS for trading etc...). So I would log into Sierra Chat and have it connect to TWS that is on the separate computer. I am not looking to have a second account with Interactive Brokers. Thanks again for your reply. |

You don't need to have a separate account at IB you are just adding a second 'virtual' user so you can login into the same IB account with two users. By default logging into TWS with a second instance and same username (mobile or another TWS on another computer) will kick you off the other connection. To further clarify the setup. Computer #1 * Sierra Chart (C:\SierraChart_IB) connecting to IB via the IB Gateway and userXXX to account 123123 * Sierra Chart (C:\SierraChart_AMP) connecting to AMP * IB - sometimes I'll run TWS on this computer for option trading (it's easier) connected via userXXY to account 123123 Computer #2 * IB - TWS on this computer connected via userXXY to account 123123 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-01-16 20:56:29
