Hiding text in Chart DOM columns

I am trying to find a way to only display the volume bars for some Chart DOM columns. I can set the text color to be the same as the volume bars to make it invisible, but I still see the text against the chart background. Is there a way to do this, and if not is this a feature that could be added? Thank you.
