If I create a stand alone program will I be able to connect to SC. It seems like all of the functionality is available.

I really want to create a chart trader interface specific to my style of trading. But one of the key points is to having the positions on the chart so that I can also move stops and targets relative to price action.

I realize you guys are busy keeping SC the best software program available, I hope you have time to respond.

thanks
Kendall

Everything related to creating a program that can interface with Sierra Chart is in the ACSIL documentation starting here:
Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL)
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Thank you John.

Is it possible to pay for some initial development work, just to get a connection from my program to SC. Once I have the connection then I can
stumble around to get other parts of it working.

You can access trading functionality in another program through the DTC Protocol Server:
Data and Trading Communications (DTC) Protocol Server

Yes this is already supported:
But one of the key points is to having the positions on the chart so that I can also move stops and targets relative to price action.

Refer to:
Chart Trading and the Chart DOM

Is it possible to pay for some initial development work,
This is not something that we offer

Thanks for your patience, John. Please bear with me.

So I would use the DTC protocol to create a socket connection from my stand alone program to SC? Then I would use ACSIL to create the orders, market data, ordering tracking etc...?

Is this the basic idea?

After doing some research it looks like I would use this to place orders instead of ACSIL.

Main point in creating this stand alone program, will I be able to create orders in my stand alone program that will also post on SC chart
and be able to be modified just like orders created with Sierra Charts "Chart Trader" that can be moved around on chart?
