Today I was working on some charts and noticed two of the Volume by Price profiles differed in their Value Area Low / High lines.
They are showing the exact same data for ES using the exact same session settings.
When I switch the
TICKS PER VOLUME BAR to 1 from the default of 2, the VAH and VAL lines also move consideralbly. In this instance 5 points.

Why does that setting affect the VAL and VAH on the current session?

If you aggregate ticks, you smooth the data.
If you smooth the data, it's not the same data, the POC and VA will likely change.
Is there any reason you would use TICKS PER VOLUME BAR at 2 ?

Well, the default of SC is a value of 2. This agree's with the VAL and VAH of my other program TOS that also shows VAL and VAH. When I set it to 1, then it has a different value.

I guess the question of "right" is, what is the "real" Value Area Low.
