Hi Sierra,

I have a request related to the volume by price (volume profile) study. I think it is a reasonably small addition but of course if it is not feasible, practical or widely desired by the user base then no problem.

Currently there are various options when selecting 'Display volume in bars' such as Total Volume, BidxAsk Volume, etc. Would it be possible to add 'Percentage Volume based on POC'?

Essentially the VPOC would always display 100%, then each other volume by price bars would be a percentage in relation to the VPOC. The bars would NOT be a percentage of the total volume for the day, it would be a percentage of the VPOC.

For example if the VPOC has a volume of 1000 then that would be 100%. Another price level which has a volume of 500 would then be 50%. Another price level with 900 volume would be 90%, and so on. Each level is a percentage in relation to VPOC.

All good if this is not something you want to add, but personally I would find great value in it. Perhaps others could comment below if they would also like to see this added.

thanks.

This will be added to the next release. Fortunately the data needed to calculate this already existed and very little had to be added to support this. Here is an example:

Great news. Sierra continues to impress me. Couldn't be happier since moving from my prior platform.

Great idea, but having the % on the display takes up too much room and is not really any good when showing a large profile. This is very close to the HEAT mode that is available on Ninja. Would it be possible to now add the ability to color the price based off this percentage? Example is 80-100% being yellow, 60-79% being green. etc...even a linear color gradient from the POC volume to the lowest for the profile would be awesome.

The HEAT mode on the profile in Ninja is the only reason I still run both platforms.

Ok, thanks for the speedy reply....are there array variables for the % value that one can utilize to create his own study based off the values? Could always try to create a study. :)

Just following up on this. Can anyone provide me with the array variable one can reference on a chart to get the volume per price values? They have the array listed in the studies template to reference the volume per bar, but I am more interested in the volume per price value and/or the new % from POC they have within the volume per price study. I am thinking there must be some array reference....Thanks!

Seems %'s based on the whole period 30min, 1d, etc should total 100% for the period would be more informative. So the sum of the histograms within the period should be 100%.
