HI, I was trying to get a custom symbol to update on a continuous contract basis so i could look back at say crude oil x unleaded for the past few years. i tried check marking the continuous contract and using 1,338 minutes to get close to a full day bar can i do this with a custom symbol? if not how would i do it with the difference function but I am hoping to be able to do it with a continuous contract. thank you in advance one other question. if i have a custom symbol and it is a bar chart or a line chart how would i get that chart to use a range chart i have multipliers and the symbols are notional (dollar normalized) so i would be looking for like my range setting to be 50 or 100 or 25 in number. I tried this and the problem I think is because the system is trying to match both markets with this range. Is there a way for me to take the '"RAW OUTPUT" of the custom symbol say oil vs unleaded and apply just the output numbers to to manipulate them into a range chart? thank you |

i got the range chart ot work just like it would if it were a normal non customized symbol it was just the amount of the range. it was going to cents so whe i put in 100 it was taking it as 1 dollar range and when i put it in as 10,000 it was a 100 dollar range which is what i was after per bar so it works great. however, i am still stumped on how to get a continuous custom spread symbol thank you |

Read through the custom symbols and spread creation twice and no mention really of how to make it a continuous contract to span a year or 2 this need some explanation please because if you check use continuous contracts it did'nt work on my end unless I am doing somethign incorrect thanks in advance |

No this is definitely not supported with custom calculated formula symbols.
