IB Chart Trading Problem

Hi I am able to log into IB also trade in Sim mode. When I go to live mode using chart trader My orders apper on the chart but do not transmit through IB. The order you can see is waiting there to transmit at IB, but has not gone through. When I try to press transmit in the IB window it will not go through. Also the I am not able to remove the order from the chart window by clicking on the x. Like I said it works fine in sim mode.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the Orders remain with an Order Sent Status.

To remove the orders from the chart, select Trade >>Refresh Trade Data From Service. This command might not remove the orders if it is done soon after you submit the orders.

Please contact Interactive Brokers and see why is that API orders are not being accepted by Trader Workstation.

hi, i'm considering IB as a broker. When reading this i'm a bit confused, do you still need to use IB's TWS if you place orders within SC ?

Yes, Sierra Chart needs to connect to Trader Workstation to submit Orders and receive all of the order related data and market data.

They do have a lightweight version they call something like TWS or IB Gateway.

Is it possible to use IB Gateway instead of IB TWS?

So the IB gateway is just a background app that connects your SC with IB account.

Is this the case with all brokers, or do some brokers offer straight connection with SC ?

All other trading services that Sierra Chart works with connect direct to the trading service. Although in the case of TransAct and Rithmic there are bridge programs that are used.
