I’ve got this constant dinging sound in Sierra charts and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from.

It’s not coming from any of my alerts as they are muted globally.

I’ve also monitored the alert manager and disabled or set alert for "no alert sound." And gone into chart settings on all or almost all of the trade charts and found anywhere there were alerts enabled. I unchecked enabled and changed the alerts to no alert sound.

The sound that I’m getting is the default windows dinging sound...not the default alert sound I've set for SC.

Any thoughts?

I had already read this portion of the documentation and checked/done everything recommended. As stated in my original post I also muted all alert sounds.

The sound i'm getting is the default windows beeping sound...not the sound my default alert sound.

Thank you for your reply.

did anyone find out why this is. I recently started using the GLOBAL SETTINGS >> MUTE ALL ALERT SOUNDS to avoid them while streaming meetings and such. Now when I UNMUTE All Alerts some or all (don't know) of my custom voice alerts 'DING' before the voice alert states its message....why?

You have some alert that is occurring. If it is the default sound from the operating system, then that means that the selected Alert Number has not been configured with a specific sound.

You would have to determine where the alert is coming from.
