I am trying to run Sierrachart on both my Mac (with windows 7) and my Laptop. Unfortunately i am getting the: This login has exceeded the number of allowed systems. You may need to allow up to 5 Minutes after closing sierra on one system and using it on another.

Am i missing something? Do i need to purchase something extra to login from two computers at once? Because I have package 5 with Velocityfutures (TT FIX) and i dont think that there should be an issue here.

Help would be appreciated as i could really use the second client running for observational purposes and i am running out of screenspace on the first one.

Kind regards

To run more than one copy of Sierra Chart at the same time you will need a direct Sierra Chart account:

However, in the case of a FIX connection that is used with Velocity Futures, you can only have one connection to the server at a time unless they assign you a 2nd set of FIX Adapter connection information. So unless you can use 2 connections to the FIX server, it is not really going to help to get a direct account in this case.

So basically its not doable, since i cant login twice into the same FIX server i will not be able to have streaming chart data. For example i need the imac to display Gold and Crude Futures, but since im already logged into sierra on my laptop i cannot have live streaming data on my imac.

Is there any workaround to this issue other than me contacting Velocityfutures and asking for a second set of login data?

No. You have to contact Velocity and obtain a 2nd connection to the FIX Adapter.

Can a person with a Velocity provided Sierra license (package 3) install multiple copies on the same computer.

Ex:
Install 1 copy connected to "TT Fix [trading]" for trading
Install 1 copy connected to "SC Historical Data [data]" for analysis
Install 1 copy connected to "SC Forex Data (FXCM) [data]" for analysis

No. You must have a direct account. Follow the instructions here:

First, I currently do have a direct account.

Second, Velocity is switching FCM and will begin to offer Forex which is why I proposed the following example. Is Sierra not going to be able to handle this dual functionality with the new Velocity??

You need to set up a direct account as explained in the instructions we linked to.

There are no plans to offer anything new/different with Velocity.

RE: setting up a direct account, please re-read the 1st sentence of post #7.

RE: no plans to offer anything different with Velocity, how will a person be able to trade Forex & Futures from the same account once Velocity switches FCMs?

OK, if you do have a direct account and we can see that, then you can install multiple copies of Sierra Chart on your system and use them with different services. Being that you do have a direct account, why did you say this:
Can a person with a Velocity provided Sierra license (package 3) install multiple copies on the same computer.
This only misled us.

For the second question you have to ask Velocity.

I asked because my direct account expires in Dec and if I was going to use the Velocity provided license and it provided the scenario I described, I wouldn't need to purchase any additional direct account usage.

I will inquire with Velocity. Is there a particular reason a person can't access the SC Historical Data since that is supposed to be part of package 3 (which is the minimum package Velocity offers). Or is it that you just can't do it on another installed copy?
