Can you clarify what is being asked? Are you wanting to see the rolling average of the highest high and lowest low over the last 8 bars? (HH+LL)/2

No - we are talking about price volatility: high - low. For example: the volatility of the eighth bar from the current = 12, the seventh bar = 8, the sixth bar = 14 ..... And then the average volatility = 11.

More specifically, it does this when set to Length of 8: ((H[-7]-L[-7]) + (H[-6]-L[-6]) + (H[-5]-L[-5]) + (H[-4]-L[-4]) + (H[-3]-L[-3]) + (H[-2]-L[-2]) + (H[-1]-L[-1]) + (H-L))/8 Its name should more accurately be Average Bar Range. You could also compute an 8 period moving average of the high and low, then subtract those two values.
