As soon as I open any chartbook SC automatically connects to my Data Feed (in my case TransAct) forcing me to manually disconnecting it. How can I disable this feature?

This is easily resolved by removing any charts within the Chartbook that are blank and where data cannot be downloaded for them. This must be the case with at least one or more of them.

I have three charts in my chart book:

ESH4, YMH4 and TFH4

Certainly none of them are blank. Even if there are blank ones, it is not good to connect to my trading services automatically, as there is a potential chance of initiating an unwanted trade.

I have recently upgraded to the latest version and continuous contract, this was not an issue in the version I was using before.

If the charts have data when they are opened, there is definitely not going to be a connection to the data feed. When you start the program there will be a connection if you have enabled Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Connect on Program Startup. We have verified this just now.

There might be a connection if you are using the Continuous Futures Contract feature. Are you? In this case, the problem would be loading too many years of data that does not exist.

I have set the continuous contract option to none for all the charts, and now it does not connect. Continuous Future was set to about 1 year. I repeat, even if the data is not there it is not good for the software to automatically connect to the trading service without permission.

It is designed this way in order to make the software easier to use. Some users may open a chart, and it is blank and wonder why the data does not come in.

Sure, then have it as an option set to disable by default.

How does one disable the data from automatically connecting? I realize this is an old post but it covered some similar ground.

I'm using SC Data All Services
I have Connect on Startup : No
Reconnect on Failure : No

I start up the sierra instance and it is not connected (which is what I desire)

I open a chartbook and then all of a sudden it connects and loads data.

what else do I need to disable?

There is nothing more you can do:
I have Connect on Startup : No
Reconnect on Failure : No

Although there may be a chart which is blank which is causing a connection.
