According to the manual if I do TOOLS->MOVE DRAWING or COPY & MOVE DRAWING the drawings are supposed to have numbers to allow the selection via the keyboard. The numbers do not show in my charts, only anchor points. I need this option as I often have trouble selecting drawings that are close to, or on top of each other. Did I miss an option somewhere to allow the display of the drawing numbers? |

First of all, you need to be using these commands directly from the Tools menu at the top of the chart to get the numbers to display in the way that you are suggesting. If you are selecting Move Drawing from the right-click menu, then the numbers will not display. Second, if you are selecting Tools >> Move Drawing from the menu and not seeing the numbers, then the only thing we can think is that perhaps the font for your drawing tools is so small that you are not seeing the numbers. Refer to the information here for how to change the font: Chart Drawing Tools: Changing the Font Size For Text Displayed with Tool Drawings (Global Chart Drawing Font) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. It is neither of those problems. I am using the TOOLS->MOVE DRAWING option and not the right-click menu. My font is also fine as I can see other text on the chart linked to the drawing objects. Also, the font is fine as when I use the mouse to select an object on top of another, the numbers appear. It is specifically a problem with the numbers appearing when I select TOOLS->MOVE DRAWING (or COPY & MOVE, etc.) I am attaching two screenshots from the same area in the same chart. The picture with the numbers at the anchors was the drawings selected using the mouse. The picture without the numbers at the anchor points is the one using the TOOLS menu. |

We apologize for the delay. We just are not sure how to help with this because it really does not make technical sense as to why there could even be a problem. We can see no reason why this would occur. What happens if you go to another chart, and draw a Line on that chart and then select Tools >> Move Drawing. Do you see the line number on it? I tried what you asked. Something new happened. I created a new chart, drew a horizontal line and a rectangle. Selected TOOLS >> MOVE DRAWING. As you can see from the attached (MU.png), only the horizontal line has the numbers. There are no numbers on the rectangles. Note that in my previous examples, the drawings were all rectangles. Note that this was on a brand new separate installation of SierraChart. So I tested my previous charts by drawing a line and I get the same thing. See OldChartWithLine.png |

Okay we see the reason for the problem now. We will resolve this in the next release.
