I am a long time user of Sierra charts, we also do education and most of our students are using Sierra charts and we are all happy with it.
Now whith these new rules of CME about logins some issues are come out for many, of course Sierra has nothing to do with it.
I'm trying to find a kind of solution for me and my colleagues/students.
We normally use 1 pc for placing orders and another for the charts and other things, with Sierra +Rithmic, non problems till now.

Now to avoid paying the second login, could it be possible to use now the DTC server for sharing the data on the second pc? they are both connected to the same router, I know that on the same pc already can be opened more than one instance using DTC server.

tks in advance
regards

We are also evaluating leaving Rithmic for Denali datafeed, could it be possible to do it with Denali datafeed (used also for order routing) to solve this issue? I mean 2 pc connected on the same router (same internet connection) one pc with a Sierra istance for order and on the other pc another Sierra instance just for charts, all paying only one CME access
could it be possible?
tks in advance
regards

For your education we recommend that you use these services:
Simulated Futures Trading Service

Delayed Exchange Data Feed

These are both included with the Standard and Advanced packages. No extra cost. If there is anything that you need with the Simulated Trading service, let us know.

We normally use 1 pc for placing orders and another for the charts and other things,
You can use one computer and you can use one instance of Sierra Chart for Trading and one for charting. Refer to:
Overview of Trading: Sierra Chart Configuration for Most Low Response Time Trading

could it be possible to use now the DTC server for sharing the data on the second pc?
No we cannot allow that due to exchange rules.

The answer is no to post #2. The exchange rules do not allow what you are suggesting and the DTC Server is designed to only allow market data requests from the same computer system. If you require using two computers, then you simply will have to pay the exchange fees twice.

Thank you for your detailed answer, I was thinking: couldnt be possible, since the 2 pc are connected, using the same router,to share for example the Sierra installation Folder of the first pc and open the second instance from the second pc? or something similar?
thank you

On the same pc I've been able to make it work a separate installation and it is working fine.
Following the Sierra Charts instructions, it seems it can be done also on the second PC conn:
Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance

as you see from the screenshot

Tryed following the instruction but seems not to work
