I want to install SC on a new PC. The installation was done with "SierraChartFileDownloader". Then I copied the "Sierra3.cfg" from the other PC to the new one. Logging was done with the known login data (SC platform and data feed). I opened an existing Chartbook. The Chartbook contains 8 charts and not more than 30 days are loaded. DOM and Quoteboard show the current data. All charts are black and are not updated. No other SC version is open. I have changed the release to 2090 (before 2092) What is the problem (see pic) |

Don't know why and how but now it works. I opened and closed the Chartbook several times and all at once the data were loaded. Maybe you can tell me the problem. |

I do have the feeling it is a Bandwith problem (here is ok). I opened my Trading Desk with SC and it took a long time for updating the single charts.

Many thanks. All settings are correct. I think there is a big problem with the transmission speed of the data. As I said above. It took quite a while to update the data of my current chartbook, which was open yesterday until 6pm. Normally an update takes a few seconds. Today several minutes. |

This is because the full amount of historical data had to be downloaded.

Sorry but I am still fighting. I noticed something. Like I said, installation on a new PC. To have the same settings, I took "Sierra3.cfd" from the first PC and also a Chartbook. With the help of "SierraChartFileDownloader" I installed and afterwards I overwrote "Sierra3.cfg" with the existing one from the first PC. Now I noticed the following. Although I had no Chartbook open, data are being fetched in the "background" (see pic). As far as I can see, the data are coming from the Quoteboard of my first PC. I had set up this QB in October 2019. This QB is not used at all on the second PC. Could it be that this data are stored in the Sierra3.cfg, especially as it is already noticeable that the data all have the identifier 19. Because this data, which I don't need at all on the second PC, is loaded in the background, it's no wonder that the PC needs so much time to load F.US.DDM20. |

We would assume the 2019 files are for Continuous Futures Contract charts you have set up in your Chartbook. That would be the only explanation.

Pls see pic. Before I opened SC again, I deleted all xxx19.scid files. Then I started SC and didn't open any Chartbook. As you can see in the pic, the "xxx19.scid" files are still loaded in the background. |

Unfortunately the problem is still not solved. I am still aware that you believe that the problem must be a chartbook. But my problem analysis has clearly shown that the Sierra3 must be damaged. I am also aware that I am the only one with this problem. Because I cannot use the existing Sierra3, I have to install and set up the platform completely new on the second new PC. It is very time consuming to set up every single menu item in Global Settings manually. Is it possible to copy individual menu items from one PC to another (Graphics Setting - Global, Tool Settings, Control Bar, Shortcut Menu etc.)? |

We did give you the relevant documentation on this previously: Chart Data and Chart Data Files: Cleaning Up Old and Unused Symbols for Efficiency The symbols are in the Global Settings >> Intraday File Update List. Remove them. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. The symbols are in the Global Settings >> Intraday File Update List. Remove them.
That was the key clue. Thanks a lot. |
