Hello,
I wonder if you can help me. I want to utilize all of the features on Sierra Charts specifically the volume related studies. I understand that a quality real time data feed, such as that from DTN IQFeed, is necessary to ensure accuracy in all (VPOC, delta and numbers bars)volume at price studies when trading close in on fast time frames. However I also would like to trade directly from the charts and am considering opening a trading account with FXCM (I am a small, UK home based non professional trader).

Can you tell me whether or not the data feed from FXCM (or any other broker that will accommodate a small trading account) will be as clean, precise and accurate as the feed from IQFEED?

Great charting software by the way.

Regards
David

So you want to chart and trade the spot Forex markets? If so you do not need DTN IQ Feed.

We have our own Forex data feed which is from FXCM:

It is going to be better than IQ Feed for spot Forex. IQ Feed probably may not be accurate in the spot Forex markets with the studies you make reference to.

Hello,
Many thanks for getting back to me. I will be trading the spot Forex markets but I also trade indices and sometimes gold and oil. As a volume based trader what I am looking for is a high quality data feed that will give me accurate real time prices so that I know that the volume studies I am looking at accurately reflect what is actually going on the market.

The only reason that I mentioned FXCM is because I do like to trade direct from the chart, but it's not absolutely necessary, and of course I wish to keep fees as low as possible. So if I can get a data feed from a broker that is as good as that from IQ Feed, without having to pay such a high a monthly fee that would be great, but an accurate, good quality data feed is the priority.

Any advice you can offer is appreciated.

Regards
David

For spot Forex, we offer this data feed:

For the futures markets, we offer this data feed:

The futures data feed is very good and you can rely on it.

Hello Again,
Many thanks for getting back to me so promptly. I have one last question for you, is it essential that I have a trading account with a broker that is supported by Sierra Charts, I have a trading account with a UK based company called IG Index, and can you let me know what the exchange fees are for the data provided by Eurex and ICE Europe?

Many thanks
David Clarke

To be able to use the Sierra Chart real-time CME data feed, you do need to use a supported trading service.

For EUREX and ICE this is not required.

ICE Europe   94.5 USD / month. Billed 100% in full for each month and for month enabled in. Non-refundable.

EUREX     31.5 USD / month. Billed 100% in full for each month and for month enabled in. Non-refundable.
