CTS or Rithmic recommendation for futures trading

I'm looking for a recommendation which of these two vendors is better for futures trading with Sierra Charts. I read info on both vendors and they seem to be comparable.

Rithmic seems to have reputation for low latency. The disadvantage from my point of view is that the current implementation requires Windows hosting (I'm leaning to Linux for hosting). It also does not provide historical tick data unless I use Optimus which is probably acceptable since I would have to use their VPS to host Windows instance.

CTS has historical data, can be integrated from Linux since it uses FIX. What I'm concerned about is that FIX probably has higher latency (perhaps negligible) and there is a monthly fee. On the plus side, it is supported by deepdiscounttrading which I liked for responsiveness.

My plan is to setup SierraCharts on VPS and use it primarily for auto trading with short term strategies (minutes, not seconds).

I would appreciate any experience sharing with both vendors. Also, I wonder how Rithmic will be supported with the future Linux version of Sierra Chart which I'm very much looking forward to.

Thanks

It is not completely clear at this time how Rithmic would be supported on Linux when Sierra Chart works directly on Linux. In general, our recommendation would be to use CTS if there is concern about Linux compatibility.

Do you have recommendation in terms of availability and performance? I would imagine that FIX connectivity would be slower than native C library. But then, the platform (Linux vs Windows) could benefit non-Windows implementation.
My primary concern is about the quality of the service, if people have better experience with Rithmic - availability, performance and data quality, then a hosting platform becomes a second choice.

Thanks

In my experience, CTS is better in terms of service, mainly because all tech issues are handled by CTS and their tech support is knowledgeable and fast. Rithmic is more or less dependent on the FCM that implements Rithmic.

Also, if you want to branch out into spreads or options, CTS is a much better choice.

Don't forget CQG is soon to be supported on SC. You might also want to give CQG a try.

@511517 Rithmic does customers when it comes to its feed, but cant learn every interface.
We as brokers who specialize in the Rithmic software, do support all SC charts internally.

or we maintain a support for Rithmic users: http://www.optimusfutures.com/forum/

I was able to directly compare both combinations, SC+CTS and SC+Rithmic, because I had trading accounts with two different brokers. From my experience I can say that I would clearly prefer SC with the CTS feed! The reason is that Rithmic repeatedly started lagging during very fast markets. I therefore closed my second account and now only use SC+CTS.

We offer CTS via SC, but it is more expansive. I am not sure if latest API was applied to your SC, but our customers don't experience those lags your described. Also, we did notice that certain internet connection cant handle the speed Rithmic is coming at.
We helped them with that. PLEASE keep in mind that Optimus Trading Group also provides bid/ask history for its customers.

I am not an internet expert and I cannot rule out that my internet connection might play a role when it comes to delays of Rithmic. What I can say is that I have very good experiences with the CTS feed.
