I can't seem to find this study in your documentation so I am assuming you do not provide it. If that's wrong, please tell me how to access it. Otherwise, I'd like to create it myself from a spreadsheet study. Is there a way to plot the values from a column in a spreadsheet study and have them appear in their own region on a chart? The values of this study would be between 0 and 100 and I can do the necessary calculations, I just don't know how to make them plot on the chart and in a region other than the main price graph. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

If you create it yourself with a spreadsheet study, just set its Chart Region to the one you want, and the Draw Style of the spreadsheet column subgraph to what you need. You'll need to use a separate spreadsheet column for each color, if you need more than one color. If you don't need alerts, use the Spreadsheet Study study. If you need alerts, use the Spreadsheet System/Alert study |

Surprised this question is being asked. This should be obvious and is the default when using the Spreadsheet Study. Maybe you have changed Chart Region default setting for the study. Refer to the steps to reset it here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ChartStudies.html#CustomDefaultStudySettings Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. We will review the code for that study, and add it to the main list of studies in Sierra Chart, assuming there are no issues.

is there a way to use choppiness index in sierra chart? I am not able to create it myself. Saw something on the internet about choppiness index in 2013 Choppiness Indicator This study is already in the User Contributed Studies with the study name "Choppiness". User702340, to get to the User Contributed Studies: 1. Open a study settings windows (where you would add any other study to a chart). 2. Click "Add Custom Study" button at bottom left corner of study settings window. 3. An "Add Study" window will pop up. Click the + next to "User Contributed Studies". 4. Scroll down till you see "Choppiness". Click "Add" and use like a normal study. |

This is done, and it will be available in the next release. I based it on the code attached to Post #2 of the following thread. Choppiness Indicator However, I made the following modifications. 1) I eliminated the Input called "Input Data" since the study never uses it. 2) I re-named the Input called "Period" to "Summation Period". 3) I changed the lower limit of Summation Period to 2, since the log10 of that period appears in the denominator of the Choppiness Index. log10(1) = 0, so this would be a problem if 1 were a valid setting. 4) I added a new Input called "ATR Period", because I found that this is supposed to default to 1, not 14. Now the ATR Period and Summation Period can be set separately. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-02-28 16:19:43
