Don't like the text. Any way to customize to return to symbol? And while I'm at it... when the text in the Control Bar is changed (size, bold, etc) the text changes as selected but the tool symbols do not. They stay "small and standard".. that is "not bold" if desired. Any way to customize the display of the tools? |

You can use the icons. Follow the instructions here: Control Bar: Control Bar Button Properties Be sure to follow step 10. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. We have to go through that multi-step process for each button? And do it all over again when we install an upgraded version? Aw come on. You can do better than that. Can't there just be a selection of "display text" or "display icon" for all tools? If not, change the default back to "icons". Most of us have had graphics software much like Sierra for years. Most all have used icons for tool selection, and we're used to that. Bad choice, regardless of "reason" to replace icons with text in Control Bar buttons, IMV. |

Agreed. If we have to do it for each button, it is absurd.

Refer to the first sub note for version 2065 for what to do to display the previous images: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Whats_New.php#SCVer2065 We have to go through that multi-step process for each button? Yes but there are only likely 5 to 10 buttons you would have to do this for and it would only take a minute or two. Basically you just simply use the Reset button in the Properties window for the button and choose that you want to Use Image. This is all. You do not have to select a particular image file. And do it all over again when we install an upgraded version? No that is not correct. If there is a problem with this, we would need to look into it. But that would definitely not be expected. Can't there just be a selection of "display text" or "display icon" for all tools? No there is a unified way of managing this and it is controlled per individual button. We are not intending to cause users any difficulties, but there was a significant issue with the images where they were not legible on very high resolution monitors. And images in general, have difficulty with scaling and visibility problems based on the background color. This is why we deliberately came up with a method and took the detailed time to implement this, by which you could still use the default drawing tool image but not have to specifically select it. This is a very easy process. And just takes a few seconds per button. So we did not see this as a major issue for the users. 1. @SierraChart: The link provided to the docs in the release notes is broken. https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Whats_New.php#SCVer2065 2. @Everyone: Here is a visual solution for those that want to use it: https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_kwh1Zlk=/?moveToWidget=3074457347349980788&cot=13 Sierra Chart support is correct - this is quick and easy - 5 steps in my visual guide. The other users are correct - this is a pain. -1 for platform stability. -1 for ease of configuration. My 2 cents: All SierraChart configuration files should be in text format. If I want to rename the bitmaps for all my buttons, I should be able to do it in a text editor without using a visual interface. Yes, I know that adds some risk that a user might break something. But we have git for version control today and it's easy to commit the entire config to a git repository and restore (also easy to share online with github and gitlab etc.) I would certainly like to be able to offer full downloadable configurations for SierraChart from a git repo online. It makes it easier to manage multiple computers with SierraChart installed and keep them updated and working well... The current binary format for all the files makes it a challenge.
