Hello SC Support, On the same computer, how many instances of SC can I use with the data services? I know that it is limited to 2 connections on two different computers, but can I open 8 or 10 instances of SC on the same computer/same data connection? Thank you. |

Yes you can open 8 or 10 instances of Sierra Chart on the same computer/same data connection (or more). There is no limitation to this setup from our end. It is just a matter of what your computer can handle.

If you have 3 or more data connections with different brokers, can you only login to two of them at a time ? The typical use case am considering is prop firm accounts. Mostly, they tend to be Rithmic paper trading accounts and configured as a Rithmic Direct connection . Note that I also have Denali data feed, not sure if that is helpful when configuring a Rithmic connection though . |

Actually, the number has changed recently, so you can have 3 connections from different Sierra Chart installations to the Denali Exchange Data Feed. Therefore, if you have 3 different brokers, and therefore 3 different installations, you will be able to connect all three to the Denali data without any problem. If you were to have a fourth, then one of the installations would not get data. There are options if you need them for having data to more than 3 installations, but it means either using a second computer or having another Sierra Chart account. If you need us to go over these options, let us know. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you for the response, John! Does the 3 data connection limit apply only when using Denali? Or would that apply even when using Rithmic data provided by the prop firm?

Just to Denali. We do not know what Rithmic connectivity allows.

No of course you cannot get real-time data on two computers at the same time from the CME. They will not allow that unless you pay a second exchange fee. The information quoted above is for delayed data. Refer to: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Connections Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks John! At present I'm able to connect to two separate Rithmic Direct connections on the same computer and initiate trades. Was also able to connect to a separate third Rithmic connection and view my accounts as well. However, not able to initiate any trades on the third one. The error I get is: Rithmic Direct - DTC (Order reject). Info: User not entitled to trade on this exchange. Internal Order ID: 137. Service Order ID: 1484289753. Symbol: MESZ2.CME. Account: ********** | 2022-10-16 17:38:22.312 * On all accounts, I have market data and historical data username/password set to the Rithmic credentials. On the third connection, I tried leaving the market and Rithmic connection blank hoping it will use my Denali feed. That has not solved the problem though. Please help. |

We do not know what the problem is. You need to ask Rithmic about that error message. It is from them.

thanks much! Is there any limit to the number of unique trade services connected from a single computer? The problem is happening only when connecting to the third service, however I have not yet tested the failing service independently

Sorry, my configuration was pointing to the wrong server (it was not local.) Not sure if that was the issue. However looking up trade activity, I saw that orders were going to the sim account. Upon disabling sim I am able to see my orders! Thanks much!

There are absolutely no limits whatsoever on the Sierra Chart side related to this.
