apparently my SSD was full and something happened that all my configurations within sc were lost. Can someone help me to understand this, because this would mean the files containing those configurations were either deleted or overwritten.

It is hard for us to say exactly what has happened in your specific case. Worst case would be simply a Chartbook or main configuration file could not be written. However, there are backup files available. Refer to: Chartbooks (Workspaces): Accessing a Backup Chartbook File For the main configuration file refer to: Resetting Sierra Chart to a Default State / Restoring Backup Global Configuration File: Restoring Backup Global Configuration File Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I had been looking at how my ssd was being affected by sc during the opening and closing of chartbooks. I had noticed my SSD space had decreased upon opening a chartbook which I thought ok due to the decompression of the data, but when I closed the chartbook the data space failed to be restored. Could somebody help me out in understanding this matter since I have many symbols to trade?

Intraday data files take the most space. However, those are compressed using NTFS compression. When historical data is downloaded, and real-time data is recorded the data files do become bigger and they remain bigger. To reduce their size, refer to: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DataSourceSettings.php#IntradayDataFileManagement Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
