Manual for ACSIL (C++)?

There is still a myth that someone can learned it in a few weeks or even days ... can not .... it's a regular programming language c++ ....

You have a lot of examples in the ACS folder in the Sierra. The study functions for the built-in studies can be found in the studies#.cpp files in the /ACS_Source folder in the folder Sierra Chart is installed to on your system.....or User Contributed Advanced CustomStudy System Source Code
User Contributed Advanced Custom Study System Source Code
This is enough for simple things and small adjustments to existing studies.

Btw.

The documentation has improved a lot in the last year, and everything is described here. There is no other manual, certainly not better than the Sierrachart documentation itself.

If you need to make something, it is better to write what you need and maybe you 'll find someone who will attach the source code to your request.

Good luck

What are you trying to code?

I'm trying to code for the Unfinished Auctions. I'm trying to reference the non zero ask bid lines until there is a close above or below them. It's too difficult to do it in Simple Alerts. I surely don't want to learn ASCIL programming. There should be more code examples like with other trading platforms. I'm beginning to see the trade off here.....
...
More expensive platforms, but less powerful, have more examples to go by and their customer support is more willing to help you learn by example.. I think this is one of their selling points. With cheaper but more powerful systems like Sierra, you get less examples and documentation, but still a very powerful system in which you basically have to learn on your own. Someone needs to create more REAL WORLD examples for beginners to go by.

I've been on this forum since 2011 and I can say that I admire customer support here because I wouldn't the courage to do it (some questions are totally crazy). There is always a certain part of people who will be dissatisfied (I don't mean you personally). It is not possible to help everyone. There are many people who obviously don't even pay to use Sierrachart and have still too many questions. In my opinion, support response speed is adequate.

There are enough examples. The programmer needs only a list of functions. Examples in the help: are an incredible bonus and lay people have got used to just changing a few lines of code and having the desired result. Then they no longer see it as a bonus but as a duty of support. I like the Support decision not to give help in programming help situations. There are many programmers (3rd party) that everyone can address. Not only for ACSIL but also for Spreadsheet.

So in this one I disagree with you.
Not a little, on the contrary.... there is too much of examples here. Written / meant in a good .....

For me, I can say that the Sierra platform is the best not only in its category, but in general thanks to constant progress.

Hi,
yes, we are still working ... A few new people sign up every day. Registration is a manual process (protection against fake accounts). Apologize for waiting ...

Check your email for details (the one you wrote when registering).

Hadn't heard that SC was free to use.
I get SC thru my broker, I don't pay SC directly, but I do pay for it.
Guess I need to contact my broker and see how SC is provided free to some people.

Amp and I presume other brokers offer Level 3 for free and then charge for Lvl 5.
