I have "Stop: Trailing Stop" (not Stop: Trailing Stop Limit) set as part of my auto trade management for trading the NQ. I noticed in the Trade Positions window when I had an active position in the NQ, that it was showing a stop-limit order with a 6 point (24 tick) spread between the stop price and the limit price. In the real world this will act like a plain vanilla stop order but it isn't actually a plain vanilla stop order, and there's always that freak risk that the market will leap more than 24 ticks. Why isn't a plain vanilla stop order being sent or shown in the Trade Positions window when the user selects "Stop: Trailing Stop"?

Thanks. Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought that CME accepted (as "native") plain vanilla stop orders in addition to stop-limit orders. Am I mistaken in that belief, and all CME actually does is an auto-conversion?

No, they do not. All Stop orders are converted to Stop-Limit orders.
