Hi SC team, happy new year and thank you for your ongoing support and superb product :) Please tell me, I am buying a new laptop and cannot decide whether to choose one with Windows 8 or previous version 7? Does it matter regarding using SC platform? What about 32/64 bit version information? Thank you! |

This has been asked before. Windows 7. I run it on 32 & 64 bit machines, no issues on either. SC & Windows 8.1 |

FWIW - I have 2 laptops. One with W7, one with W8 (it was the upgrade for the latest laptop and I just took it) I do not like the look or feel of W8 at all, even though now 4 months later i have gotten used to it. With all their automatic downloads etc; it takes forever to do anything. It is designed for touch screens, apps, pictures and rubbish. I would suggest you keep your old computer just in case. Luckily I still run Sierra Chart on my W7 laptop and use it exclusively for trading and it still means SC is the best thing since sliced bread. |

Sierra works on both. I have used Sierra on W7 and W8 - once you have started SC, you wont notice the difference. Its really a matter of taste - if you like the new look use W8, if not, dont.

You can use something like classic shell or start8 to avoid metro mode. Win8 is pretty close to Win7 after those tweaks. |
