I'm using the SC data feed with TT routing. SC v 2024. Yesterday and today CL stayed on January 2020 despite having Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol checked. I make 5 business days before the 25th to be yesterday, 16 December. |

Yes this does make sense if the chart was not reloaded. Refer to the documentation for that setting here: Chart Settings: Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. The rollover will only occur when the Chartbook the chart is contained within is opened or the chart is reloaded with Chart >> Reload and Recalculate.
Does closing and re-opening Sierra count as opening a Chartbook? In which case it should have rolled itself and didn't? |

Based on this rule: 5 business days before the 25th (or preceding business day) before the contract month. The rollover will not be done until December 18. Thank you. I'm aware that the pace of the roll can vary in energies - yesterday 17th Jan 2020 traded 147k lots and February 401k, but the date rule won't roll until the 19th. So I'm probably looking for this option? General Settings Window: Detect Rollover Of Current Futures Contracts Symbols Based On Real Time Volume (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Symbol) Question: if I have a symbol limit of 20 and am using 15 symbols, is enabling this option going to cause me to pull real time data for 30 symbols? I am now seeing "Over Symbol Limit, Limit is 20 Symbols" messages. Edit: have upgraded to 100 symbols and the crude oil charts are now rolling based on volume, thanks. This worked for a few minutes, I restarted Sierra (to upgrade to 2028) and now it is telling me again "Over symbol limit. Limit is 20 symbols. " Yet I have already paid the upgrade and it was working before I upgraded to 2028. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2019-12-18 11:57:37

Regarding post #6 and #7, yes you do want to use that option, and we already addressed the symbol limit issue in another thread.
