Hi,

I currently use service package 5 through AMP and since TD Ameritrade won't work from the new year I need another broker to chart stocks and opened an account with IB.

I made a new copy (not new instance) on the same computer and tried to log in with IB credential to chart stocks and it's not working.

When I try to set up in data/trade service settings it says "not enabled on package) [trading].
Does it mean I can't even use SC to chart or not enabled ONLY for trading?

If it's the first case then I have to move my futures account to IB to chart both futures and stocks?
If possible I don't want move my futures account from AMP,,,I'm happy there.

Lastly what's the cost to get the stock real time data from SC? I have to scan and might have to look at over 1,000 stock symbols.

PS: If the limitation is there because I use affiliated (with AMP) package can I pay directly to SC to remove the limitations of "not enabled on package" ?

Thank you.

What you state in the P.S. is what is happening. Since you have Sierra Chart through AMP, when you login to the other installation, it still sees you as being affiliated with AMP.

Yes, it is possible to go direct with us and stay with AMP. Refer to the information here:
Direct Sierra Chart Account

For real-time stock data you need to use this data feed:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

That page has complete pricing.

Same question, slight variation.

Assuming the following:
- Using Sierra Charts platform directly through Sierra Charts account (not through affiliate)
- Using Sierra Chart real-time exchange data feed
- Using Sierra Chart for order routing through the SC TT order routing

1. To trade stocks(or stock options) on Interactive Brokers and trade futures on AMP, is it necessary to run two instances of Sierra Chart?

2. IF two instances are necessary, does that mean you have to pay for two SC real-time data connections to be able to trade stocks and futures?

3. This seems obvious but doesn't running two instances double the system resources being used somewhat unnecessarily?

Thank you.

1. Yes.

2. It depends if you will be using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for the stock data. If yes, then the answer would be yes. But longer-term we are seeing if we can change the need for the extra cost of the second real-time connection.

3. No. Refer to:

In follow-up to number 2:

Yes. I plan to exclusively use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for the stock and futures data and order routing.

- Any rough idea when the requirement for a second real-time connection for stock and futures trading will be dropped? (A week or two, months, a year or longer)?

*I thought I would keep this as general as possible since I assume this is not an uncommon question you receive and hopefully others can use this as reference.

Ok then you do have to pay for two real-time connections. In regards to the question whether there is a cost for the second real-time connection, we will not know about whether that can be removed until a few weeks from now. That is all we can say now.

To follow-up on this:

Curious if there are any updates regarding the need for a second real-time connection if trading both futures and stocks?

Thank you.

This is part of a long term project of ours and we really are not going to know for about 3 months and many months after that for implementation if successful assuming no exchange restrictions.

So there are many unknowns at this point.
