Engineering, I'm running Windows 7 on my computer but MS have recently informed us that they will discontinue its support early next year, so my question is: What newer version of the software works best with your software based on first-hand experience? Thanks. |

We recommend just continuing with Windows 7. That should be fine for another two years. And by then, Sierra Chart will definitely be supporting Linux directly. Not a native version. However, you can run Sierra Chart on a Mac now: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SoftwareDownload.php#UsingSierraChartOnMacOS The described set up we are told works well. Sierra Chart has already been changed significantly to allow it to work well under these translation layers. And we will continue to make improvement towards that. And under Linux you can use Wine. I'm currently using CrossOver and it's far from perfect. Had to use Parallels which is also far from perfect. Pity to hear that you changed your plans to move from Windows...
