Can someone convert my Metatrader MT4 algo to Sierra Chart? Someone give me a .ex4 file that was created in Metatrader and i need to see about getting it converted on to Sierra Charts. Can this be done? Thanks

There is no easy way to do this. This is a manual process and whoever does this needs to understand MT4 and Sierra Chart ACSIL.

I doubt he was able to. The file he has is an .ex4, which is like a dll. It is not source code so it is not readable by humans.

Even with the source code, conversion is tricky, as MetaTrader (plus Ninja, TradingView, and other platforms) all number bars the opposite way, where the current bar is always bar zero. This breaks everything in ACSIL, as bars are numbered from the first bar on the chart to the last. The fact that a given bar can change its number means you jump through hoops to keep track of bars of interest.

When people ask me to convert a study from any of the other platforms, I decline because I am unable to determine how much work it will take. BTDT.
