Hi Support,

What would be the equivalent of $ADD and $TICK when I go to > Find Symbol > Market Stats?

Thank you in advance for your help.

For $TICK it is TICK-NYSE

If $ADD is the advance decline line it is:
NISS-NYSE

If you want to perform a cumulative sum of that, then use this study:
Advance Decline Line

Hi Support,

I am reading through the manuals and I am confused and would like to ask step-by-step instructions how to setup NISS-NYSE to be correct and updated from start of the day.

I added symbol NISS-NYSE
I added Advance Decline Line study into chart region 2 (recommended here https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SCMarketStatistics.php#top) at the NISS symbol
I added Cumulative Sum of Study on ID1.SG1 (i.e. Advance Decline Line study) and set the parameter Reset at Start of Trading Day to Yes. (recommended here Advance Decline Line)

Now I have 3 values on my 2-min chart as of Fri 2019-08-30 15:04:00
In region 1 there is number 365
In region 2 there is 472279.000
In region 3 there is 89839976.000

How should I interpret these numbers? Where should I read the Advance - Decline number to see what is happening in the market?

Thank you in advance for your help.

We apologize for the delay here. We want you to update the prerelease version 1984:
Software Download: Fast Update

And then use this study which has been updated:
Advance Decline Line

And set this input with it to Yes:
Reset at Start of Trading Day

This is the only study you need to add to the NISS-NYSE chart. Remove the others.

Also make sure the Session Times are set correctly for the chart:
Chart Session Times

So that study will provide the cumulative sum for the trading day of the difference between the up and down NYSE issues. This is what you are looking for.

Does this Advanced Decline Line Study get added in Chart Region 2?

Yes that would make sense.
