let's say i watch two markets, A and B on separate charts, same chartbook

both A and B have 100 forward columns

i pull A's chart back left more than the fill space. as A draws new bars, those bars fill in that space until they hit the 100 forward columns wall to the right, fine

but let's say i am tracking A and B at the same time by switching between them on a full screen

i pull A's chart back left and watch the bars fill in again. at some point, i switch to look at B's chart for a few min. then i switch back to A. as long as there has been enough time to draw a new bar on A, the chart has jumped right back to the 100 forward column position again. i think it is because sc redraws the chart completely when switching from another one

would it be possible to remember the horizontal scroll position of a chart more precisely when switching, especially when there are many charts on short time frame ?

The horizontal scroll position is always maintained. It does not change when moving between charts. Or are you changing the size of the chart?

hi, horizontal position is maintained as long as a new bar has not appeared on a chart that was not visible

most apparent on very short-term charts with a lot of new bars occurring, eg 5-min

We observed no problems with this and could not reproduce any issue like this at all.

try this chartbook . .

i use a 4k monitor, only one chart visible and fullscreen sierra

take a look at the BZ chart (during active session)

pull the chart bars to the left so that they only fill about 25 % of the chart. watch a few minutes as the bars fill in the empty space . . no chart shifting

now, click on the UB tab. leave it on UB chart for ~15 minutes

now click back to the BZ chart

chart will have shifted to the far right to fill the entire screen again

Now that we read your description in post #5, yes this does make sense. The fill space is going to get filled in whether you are looking at the chart or not.

And we certainly do not have 20 minutes to be spending on this. We would not do that. This is a support request which should not even have been started.
