Hi,

I'm trying to configure the Numbers Bars studies but I'm having trouble to get it to do what I need. I think it might not be currently possible, in which case I'd like to suggest this as a feature request.

What I'm trying to do is this:

1) Have just 1 column on the numbers bars
2) Show a full background
3) Show bid x ask text
4) Have the background be colored with a given set of colors
5) Have the text be colored with a different set of colors
6) Configure different thresholds for the Background colors and the Text colors, in which both are percentages (background is "based on askvol/bidvol percentage", and text is "based on diagonal dominant side askvol bidvol percentage")

I can easily configure 1 through 5: the first few inputs on the study (In:16 - In:27) together with the "Column 1 Percent Compare Thresholds (In:91)", and then the separate colors for Text Coloring Method (In:103 - In:111) allow me to do that.

But I can't configure 6 above. It seems like I'd need something like "use separate thresholds for Text" and then a separate box to configure those thresholds for text. But I don't think there's such an option.

As a workaround, I have separated the background on Column 1 and the text on Column 2. In other words, by relaxing my requirement 1 above, I can implement requirement 6 by using two different columns. But I really want a single column, to be able to fit more information in one screen.

Could you please advise?

Thanks

I found another work around. Still not exactly what I want, but getting closer.

Basically, I'm "giving up" on half the colors for the background, and also "giving up" on half colors for the text. Since I mostly need the text to be highlighted when the percent threshold is way bigger than 1, I'm using thresholds like "0.5, 1, 3" and then I only use the 2 "inner" colors for the background (so I have separate colors for less than 50% and more than 50% on this example), and then I use the 2 "outer" colors for text (below 3x and above 3x).

An improvement, since I can have just 1 column and fit more info into my screen, but still not ideal as I had to reduce the number of colors available.

Any other ideas, or a "real" solution?

Thanks

Ok, I found another workaround that does exactly what I need.

Basically, I added 2 times the Numbers Bars study onto my chart: one has just text on column 1, the other has just background on column 1. They have their "percent thresholds" for column 1 configured as I need, so everything is rendering as I need!

What you did is the only option available. We have it on our worklist to allow for separate text thresholds, but we are busy with lots of things and cannot commit to any timeframe as to when we will get to this work.
