I get an error that both the quantity and price match, so no modifications are done. I do check the price beforehand, and they don't match. Is the sc.ModifyOrder function only supported with Open orders?

These orders certainly can be modified since they can be modified directly from the chart. If you get that error, it means that the quantity and price do match. So you need to change them to something different. However, in the case of a pending child order though, the quantity should be 0.
