Hello support When using the "Send Attached Orders - Price" order type the RefPrice field seems to always auto populate with a figure that is far away from price. I forgot to set this and managed to close out my position accidentally as the stops were the wrong side of price. Additionaly I have found that when the "----" value is selected it will open a new naked position with no attached orders. Would it be possible to modify this order type so that when it is selected from the menu the "----" value is always prefilled and then if a numeric value is not chosen an alert/error is thrown on order submission with a user prompt? Many thanks (Resubmitted as support request) |

We are sorry, but there are no workarounds for this is currently functioning. Therefore, this, and the previous post on this topic, are User Discussions as they really are asking for changes to how the system current functions. We understand what is desired and we always strive to make as many improvements as we can, but we cannot commit to any specific timeline. I understand your busy but it would be appreciated if you can get round to this when you can. The fact it opens a new naked position when selecting the --- option is not safe behaviour. Simplest fix I can think of is to remove the --- option and for it to default to the current mid price. |

We will implement a solution to this . The price field is never automatically set when changing the order type. But if it is set to ---- we can use the last trade price. Really you should just submit this by right clicking on the chart at the price level you want to be the center price and then use the Send Attached Orders menu command. Thanks for looking at it - your solution sounds good. You said: "The price field is never automatically set when changing the order type" FYI that's not what I'm seeing. Once I choose "Send Attached Order By Price" from the dropdown the RefPrice field is always some arbitrary very low number. I get the same behaviour on different chart books etc. I don't know where this value is coming from. Screen shot shows XAUUSD and the 1.13 value is what was pre populated. Last trade was 1286.1! On SPXm it pre populates with 0.0 Is this something I/you can fix? |

It is set to whatever it was set to previously. This is all.

Thanks for clarifying. I personally don't consider that useful behaviour. Maybe there's a usecase I'm missing. From my view it would be much better/safer to default to last trade price. |

That would not make sense because that is altering a price that a user has set. We definitively would never do that under any condition. It would generate complaints. However we did implement a solution that accomplishes effectively what you want. Update to the latest prerelease and then what you can do is clear the price value and just leave it blank and in that case when you submit an order it will default to the last trade price. Thanks for that I've done a quick test When using the right click menu any open position now gets closed out which I assume is a bug. This worked as you described before the update. From the trade panel it works well when choosing the --- value or blanking the field. The downside is that whatever value the command executed at is then getting prefilled which will could result in future fat fingered mistakes. A check box to lock to the last traded price and disable the RefPrice field would solve that problem and prevent complaints. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2019-05-14 09:09:23

When using the right click menu any open position now gets closed out which I assume is a bug. This worked as you described before the update. This is definitively not correct. This functionality has not changed and works properly as always. You need to right-click at the price you want as the reference price for the Attached Orders.
