No indication of trades on old charts / Pulling trades from broker

Hello,

I'm not sure if it is expected behaviour. I can't see markers of trades on old charts (Trade >> Show order fills). For example, I want to see my activity on one particular day in January of 2019. My chart is configured to show ES continuous contract adjusted by rollover date. So, it is showing current contract in Chart Settings >> Symbol (Jun 2019). But back then I traded another contract (Mar 2019). I've confirmed that Trade Activity Log has information about my trades on that particular day by setting filter. I also tried to set Chart Settings >> Symbol to ES Mar 2019 with no success. System showed message that "Rollover is needed".

Is it expected behaviour?

And second question. Is there a way to pull information about trades from broker into the Trade Activity Log for analysis that were done outside of Sierra environment? Example would be placing trades via broker's applications (and not via Sierra) or trades placed before I started to use Sierra. If it makes any difference, I use Interactive Brokers.

PS As a reference point, I'm on v1913

Thanks and best regards

Refer to:
Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Order Fills on Continuous Futures Contract Charts

I also tried to set Chart Settings >> Symbol to ES Mar 2019 with no success.
This will work. As long as the chart matches the symbol of the order fills you will see them. However, also refer to the complete instructions here:

Thank you for quick response.

If I understand you correctly, there is no way to automatically pull information about trades from broker, except preparing TSV file and importing it.

Thanks

Yes you have to create your own text file to import the order fills. But there may be a way to do this with Interactive Brokers. We have heard there is a setting in TWS to control how many days of order fills to load in TWS or to make available to the API.

I found that another factor preventing me from seeing trades on the chart is current trading account that you can see / select via Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart. If account in this window doesn't match account that was used to place trades on this chart, then you won't see order fill markers.

So, in case of charting trades executed against futures contract in the past, you have to set Chart Settings >> Symbol to that specific symbol that was used to place the trades (you can see it in the Trade Activity Log). Markers appear regardless of "continuous contract" setting as long as Symbol matches Trade Log record. For example, today ES Jun 2019 is front running month contract. If you want to see your trades placed in January 2019 against ES Mar 2019 contract, set Chart Settings >> Symbol to that specific contract, not "ES Jun 2019 continuous".

Hope that helps.

Thanks again and best regards
