I'm recently back using Sierra Chart services and have an issue with the trade activity log Trades tab not matching order fills with my DOM. I had previously used Sierra (not sure of which version I had but it would have been from 2017 or 2018)without issue and my order fills in my trade activity log matched the orders as they were filled in the DOM. I had used this old version while re-acquainting myself with Sierra for a month now, again with no issues. Last Friday I got a notification that a new version was available so I upgraded it to the latest version (1912 I believe). It was extremely laggy so I downgraded it to version 1906. The lag issue resolved, however, I then noticed a bunch of my chart settings were not carried over so I finally got them adjusted back to how they were before the upgrade. Then I noticed the issue that brings me to this post. My trades were set to use LIFO (as that makes the most sense for my trading style). After realizing that the upgrade changed me back to FIFO I started reading all of the prior issues and complaints that entailed after Sierra Chart removed LIFO to make the coding easier. It is not surprising that issues and complaints arose after removing such a feature. So I then went about manually setting my trades back to LIFO. I chose to go with "Use Last In First Out Fill Matching for Open Position Average Price and For Daily Profit/Loss (less reliable)". So now my orders are processed using LIFO on my DOM however my trading activity log is still in FIFO mode. As the trades are exited it shows them being filled in FIFO order. In other words, the first trade entered is updating in the activity log as the first trade exited while my DOM still shows that trade as active and not yet filled to close it out. Is there a setting I have to change in my trade activity log to accommodate for LIFO? This also goes for chart trading showing connecting lines of executions. It is also still using FIFO instead of LIFO although I think another post suggested this was being worked on. Also, the previous version I was running had a trade activity log that had a "running PnL" column. I found this column useful. I realize you now have a Total PnL in Profit/Loss column however this is just current time and does not show at which point (trade sequence) I went from profitable to a loss or loss to profitable. This may sound trivial but I found the running PnL useful when reviewing the day. Is there any chance this could be brought back? Thank you. |

It was extremely laggy This is definitively not version specific. Refer to help topic 30:High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often however, I then noticed a bunch of my chart settings were not carried over so I finally got them adjusted back to how they were before the upgrade. This does not make any sense going from version 1912 to 1906. We do not accept this as being correct as described. I started reading all of the prior issues and complaints that entailed after Sierra Chart removed LIFO to make the coding easier. It is not surprising that issues and complaints arose after removing such a feature. This is totally incorrect. Barely anyone asked about this in particular and this does not cause a problem. It merely was just asking for particular functionality. Also, the previous version I was running had a trade activity log that had a "running PnL" column. This has always been supported but the column is called Symbol/Cumulative Profit/Loss.We are glad to have removed last in first out matching. That is a very disorderly matching method. We are working on re-implementing it but it is very complicated, and we are not really happy with the code complexity and inefficiencies introduced with it. Anyway it will be out in about we hope 10 days. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
