A couple questions about trade execution

Hello,

On the chart and ChartDOM, all for a single instrument:

1. Scenario: I place multiple orders. Each of them has attached "Child-client" orders, which are not in effect yet, but which WILL be in effect if my core orders fill. My issue is that when live orders and child orders occur on the same price increment, live orders are frequently (or always? not sure) not visible because the child orders are on "top." I always want live orders to be on top so I can easily see and adjust them.

2. I want to fully close an open position (with any attached orders) without canceling other, unrelated/un-attached open orders. If I hit Flatten, it closes the position AND cancels all other open orders. What options do I have to perform this task? The closest option I have thought of so far to not lose my other orders is to have "support scale-out" enabled and then in Chart Trade window, uncheck "use attached orders," set the quantity and then exit with the market order button. But this is many clicks, cumbersome, and takes way too long for making and executing these active decisions on the fly.

Thank you.

1. We would have to check but the ordering probably depends upon the order in which the orders were entered. Otherwise, this is not controllable.

We recommend using multiple charts, one for each order set and then enable this option to only show the orders for the individual chart:
Trade Menu: Only Orders From Chart (Trade menu)

2. Same answer as above. Just use a separate chart and then you can manage each order set separately. But you don't want to use Flatten either in this case. Probably you will just want to drag the Target order towards the current price to cause an immediate fill and closing of the position the order initiated.

Thank you for the response. This will unfortunately not be feasible as I am looking for the flexibility to scale in and out with various, separate orders (each of which include attached orders) and I will not be able to balance attention across multiple charts to manage multiple discrete pieces of what is logically just a single larger sequence.

It would really be great if live orders always appeared on top of child orders.

And a button that closed an open position but left other live orders intact would be very helpful as well.

Not sure how we can help with the ordering of the orders on a chart. We could sort them a certain way, but then likely someone else will say that that's not appropriate for what they need.

So you just want to be able to flatten the existing position without canceling orders?

If there were a flag/checkbox I could check that always brought active orders to the front, I would certainly check it.

Regarding the flattening, yes that's right. The attached orders would go away of course, but all unattached orders would remain in place.

Okay we will see about an option to control the ordering of displayed orders on the chart.

We will add a new control bar button and keyboard shortcut to flatten without canceling orders. This will be out in the next release.

Flatten only is useful.

Flatten and cancel all is useful.

However a hotkey to flatten and cancel attached only would be great. eg, close current position, cancel all attached orders, do not cancel all other working limit orders that are not attached the the open position
