I am planning to install Sierra Chart on a 2nd computer (laptop). I am currently have a subscription to Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange data feed. Can I run both computers and get real-time market data at the same time? Or only one computer can only be receiving real-time market data?

In this particular case you just need to activate a second real-time data connection: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#Connections Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. If you are on the same intranet then I think you can set up the first computer as your DTC server and use that datafeed on the second one. I've done just that on a single datafeed |

The new SierraChart installation will be on a laptop that I will be using when I travel. In this case, only one real-time data connection will be active. Can I use the existing real-time data connection?

Yes of course this is no problem. And you can do what is described in post #4. It is just more technically involved and that is why we usually do not suggest it. So I can reuse the existing real-time data connection on the laptop as long as the real-time data connection on the desktop is not active. Do you have instructions on how to setup the DTC server proposed in post #4? |
