the latest release creates charts that are broken when you are downloading a new intraday chart from scratch. i would advise that you pull the release until this is fixed.

What does this mean? We are not understanding this. We do not observe any problem with Intraday charts or opening an existing Chartbook.

Opening existing Chartbooks does not seem to be a problem.

The problem happens when you're downloading historical data for a symbol for the very first time.

I created an entirely new Sierrachart installation today from scratch. When I load an intraday chart, it looks like this:

The reason why it looks like that is it downloads historical only up to a certain point (in this case 2011), then it skips the rest and show the data for the past few minutes. Then when I change the days to load, it will only show the data for the past few minutes, no matter what # I enter for days to load.

I have tried this with both SC Data - All Services and CQG Fix and it happens to both so this is not a data provider problem.

When I downgraded to 1875 and 1877, the problem no longer reproduced. Please understand, I tested this using a fresh installation of Sierrachart, complete with default everything. Just the way it comes when a first-time user downloads Sierrachart for the very first time. I had no previous data files or settings or anything. So I can confidently say this is NOT due to settings.

edit* when you're trying to replicate this, don't test this on an existing SC installation with already-created charts/chartbooks. create an entirely new SC installation (i.e. C:\Sierrachart2 or something) and then select any symbol to create new intraday chart. you will see what i mean.

Okay, we do see the problem and we are working on it. We have restored the prior version.

To update to the prior version select Help >> Download Current Version.
