I have recently had new SIM trades put on overnight. The program IS NOT running but my computer is on. I login in the morning and I'm long or short ES contracts in Sim1 and Sim2 accts. How do I fix this and how can I be assured it doesn't happen in my live acct?

Did those orders fill when you started Sierra Chart? You can determine the time from the Trade Activity Log:

Yes, it looks like the trades did initiate when I opened the program.

Yes that does make sense.

What makes sense? I had no trades in the waiting, none in the queue. None of the trades executed were planned or wanted. The program randomly executed an order. I think there is a bug in the system.

Either you had working simulated orders that you were not aware of, or there is an automated trading study submitting the orders. There is no bug here. That is 100% impossible.

After market close on Friday 2/22/2019, I had no open positions, no open orders pending that I could see on the chart. I clicked Flatten and Cancel All for Sim1 and Sim2 acct, and then shut down SC program. Saturday morning, opened platform and am short 43 contracts in Sim1 on the ES. Checked version, and I am on v1875 32-bit (26261:26262). Still needing a solution/explanation.

Follow the instructions here:
Trade Activity Log Analysis: Support Assisted Trade Activity Log Analysis

And yes we do charge for this.

But we do think that you can get the answer yourself from the information given in that section.

So I read the information from the link provided above, and even went to other links that may have been helpful. I found nothing that helped me determine WHY this is happening. So instead of being snarky and showing my frustration with how you have handled this "non-problem" with your perfect program, I chose to invoke the Clear Trade Simulation Orders & Data option from the main Trade menu. Because it was obvious (from trade logs) that old closed orders were reactivated at the whim of the Sim acct, deleting the old info seemed to be the quickest solution to my problem, even though it doesn't really address the root of the problem. But after all, it is only Sim. I didn't save the trade log because I doubt you would have wanted to see it anyway. Regards.

There must be an open order, or an order which has been submitted at the time a Chartbook is being opened like by an automated trading system, which then is getting filled around the time you have started Sierra Chart.

The order that filled at the time you started Sierra Chart is logged in the Trade Activity Log. So you need to trace the order back to its origin. You can look at its Internal Order ID and then filter the records by the Internal Order ID through that drop-down list at the top of the Trade Activity Log.

There still is a backup of the Trade Activity Log available.

I would rather drive the car then spend time and money learning how it works. I thought your job was to know how it works. So I'm not going to pay to have the trade logs analysed. I'm going to create a new chartbook and charts for the ES and start over. If it happens again, I'll be in touch.

Okay for the record though clearing the simulated trade activity changes nothing other than removing any open simulated orders which you would have seen in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Orders. If there were no working orders, then nothing changes by that operation in regards to the issue.
