Is there a way to increase update frequency on the mdh chart? Or how is the update frequency determined? I set it to 1 second bars, but it's randomly updating in between 1 and 3 seconds. Similar to 2 second bars. Sometimes two new white bars are painted at once and then filled with data. I attached a small video clip to demonstrate this. Thanks! |

There can be many causes of this which also includes the data feed itself. We do not think there is anything we can suggest that would help with this other than to check the Chart Update Interval: Chart Settings: Chart Update Interval in Milliseconds (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Display >> Chart Update Interval menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Adjusting the chart update interval didn't help. The "problem" is even more prevalent during out of session times. I found in the documentation of chart update interval following line which might explain what happens. If there is no new market, Trade Order or Position data, then the chart will not be updated.
Could it be, that a change in the dom just doesn't trigger a chart update? Might there be a workaround to force drawing a new column in the market depth historical every second? Thanks! |

We did look into this and we do see that a change of market depth other than at the best level does not cause an update and we will resolve that. This is a relatively new issue.
