Hello,

Yesterday, the 2019-01-18, my automated system placed a trade during the night (always with a TP and a SL), but when I connected to my machine (a VPS), I saw the trade was still open, making a loss, and there were no TP nor SL attached to it, so I immediately closed it, making a loss of $262.5... I talked about it to my broker, and he replied to me that other users experienced the same thing during the week so you made an update. I just updated my platform. Please, could you confirm me the reason of this issue?

Regards,

Gabriel

We made no such update and this is not correct. How they have come to this conclusion we have no idea. The only definitive source of technical information in regards to Sierra Chart is from us. There is no one else who is qualified to speak about this.

There are two things here. First, you need to make sure the Attached Orders Time in Force is set to Good till Canceled:
Attached Orders: Time In Force

Second, you are going to need to leave Sierra Chart running to ensure the proper management of the Attached Orders. Refer to:

Actually we have reread your support request and we see that Sierra Chart was running but anyway we did link to the documentation on this subject.

And is this a spreadsheet automated trading system or does it use ACSIL? We need to know to explain what to do to make sure the Attached Orders will have a time in force of Good till Canceled.

Hi,

Thanks for your message. To answer your questions, I just checked and there's an order Validity input in my system that was set on GTD.
The system is using ACSIL. Also, SC is always running as it runs on a VPS.

Thanks

Look at the Trade Activity Log and find out why the orders were canceled:
