No hurries for this, and merely for others to avoid : My nick name is PeterSt and while I posted a new User Discussion thread (How to have better granularity in P&L (ACSIL)) I saw it happening that this was posted under account 502006. I thought this was normal and paid no further attention to it (under the hood real account, I suppose). Until I responded in an other thread and saw that I still posted under that 502006 account. My logged in yellow box still showed my normal account name (which is not the nick name) so nothing wrong there; Still I logged out and -in again to see whether it helped. It did. See here for what happened to my nick name and posting : SC Real Time Data feed during trial of SC ? May it matter, this is with Opera. Regards, Peter Date Time Of Last Edit: 2019-01-14 09:28:55

Some additional data and subjective finding : This could be more tricky than what shows at first glance; At some stage, somewhere, I entered an email address to one of the Sierra Chart forms, most probably a first one at downloading. But I really forgot where and what. Anyway, this is not a formal mail address and it is ready to receive spam. The forum notifications go there, and checking a few things, this is the email address I registered at the account of the forum. OK. When the forum system (or whatever) changed my nick name to probably the internal real account ID (the 502006), the email notifications of the posts I unsolicited made with that real account ID, suddenly go to the email address which *is* formal and which I attached to the Sierra Account somewhere (not sure where, but undoubtedly a place where no person details should be faked or anything). I don't know whether this can be harmful anywhere, and I only mention it because it "additionally" doesn't look right and things may get mixed up. And if not on the user's side, then possibly on the SC's side. |
