Hi! I'm having trouble using limit orders via trade DOM. I have set up my left mouse button to enter limit orders when buying at best bid/ selling at best ask, or when buying below best bid/ selling above best ask, and stop orders when selling below best bid and buying above best ask. However, I have trouble buying at best ask and selling at best bid. Obviusly, I would expect instant execution for these orders since they are marketable limit orders. However, when I buy at best ask Sierra chart will enter a stop order if the last trade was at best bid and I will get filled only when it starts trading at best ask. To explain, if S&P 500 is trading at 2650.25/ 2650.50, and if the last trade was at 2650.25, than if I want to buy at 2650.50 I would expect to get filled immediately, but rather, I get a stop order which fills just when 2650.50 starts trading. How can I resolve this? Thanks |

This is definitely not a reliable configuration to do what you want. You need to configure the Chart DOM to submit Stop orders on a right-click instead: Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart DOM Settings Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Maybe we don't understand each other. The problem is not the mouse button I use, rather the way my orders are interpreted by the program. I have attached a screenshot of my DOM settings for reference. Sierra Chart offers the following options regarding left/right click operations on the buy column: (i) left/right click on buy column above the last and (ii) left/ right click on buy column below/ equal last. Lets forget for now about the stop orders. I want to be able to input marketable limit orders (that is - the orders to buy on the ask and sell on the bid). These should fill immediately. How should I do that? |

The only safe way to do this, is for the "Left Click" operations that are set to a Stop order, change those to a Limit order. Here is the relevant documentation: Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart DOM Settings Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
