Apparently there is no historical intraday data available via OEC Trader data for QGZ18 or any other symbol (i.e., QG?XX). Add new intraday chart, enter QGZ18, set days to load 90. It doesn't matter what symbol I choose, intraday data always begins on Nov 14, 2018. The data is available in OEC Trader app back at least 250 days so it is available on their server. Also, no data for HH?XX - not in Sierra Chart symbol listing though data available on OEC Trader. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2018-11-16 18:07:40

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings: Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I tried the update symbol settings. That solved one issue, the lack of data prior to Nov 14, 2018 for QGZ18. There are 3 other issues as can be seen from the attached files. 1. There is no data for contracts with HH root. 2. There are no rollover rules for contracts with HH root. 3. There are no rollover rules for contracts with QG root. |

Thank you. HH is the full-size contract for Henry Hub natural gas whereas QG is the miNY contract for HH. FYI the rollover details need added for both please HH and QG. Years ago when there was a pit at NYMEX contract the HH contract now had an “NG” root. These are the natural gas contracts — i.e. analogous to the full-size and miNY contracts for crude oil. UPDATE : https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/#naturalGas I'm confused as to why Sierra has listed as HH root though. According to CME the root is NG, but best I could tell from the symbol listings in Sierra Chart, the match is HH. There is no NG. https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/why-futures/welcome-to-nymex-henry-hub-natural-gas-futures.html Here is QG, miNY https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/natural-gas/emini-natural-gas_contractSpecs_futures.html Date Time Of Last Edit: 2018-11-17 20:49:33

Not sure where you are seeing HH. The Gain Capital symbol pattern for this is as follows: GNG?## This is listed in File >> Find Symbol >> Futures. Though symbols do work. There is nothing further to do here. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. I’ll need to check next weekend. I searched in Sierra Chart before my original post “natural gas”. If GNG root is there I missed it. GNG is more logical though since crude oil root is GCL on OEC IN Sierra Chart. No matter the root, could you please add/confirm that the rollover details for natural gas symbols (GNG or HH as well as QG) are added/updated in Sierra Chart list. Thank you. |
