I am currently day trading the NQ using charts with small time frames (anywhere from 10 second bars to 1 minute bars). My current approach is to enter at the bar closing price with a one click limit order via the DOM (using the attached orders window so that an attached target and stop orders are submitted if I am filled with my entry)...see attached image. I use one mouse right-click in the DOM to enter the order. However, the prices dance around quite a bit which makes it hard to use my hand/mouse to enter the order via the DOM exactly at the closing price...I sometimes get filled above or below the bar closing price, or not at all if the prices are moving very fast. I have tried various techniques to help (such as changing the scale settings of the DOM to keep the price in one spot and let the chart bars dance around, or using the Buy Bid button on the Trade Window, etc. etc.). However, nothing really helps. Is there a way that I can have a command to enter a limit order at the bar closing price? For example, with 5 seconds to go until the bar is complete I determine that I want to enter a buy limit order at the bar closing price (with attached target and stop orders)....can I set up a command/key stroke to accomplish this (or some other method which doesn't rely upon my hand/eye coordination with the mouse to enter the order manually exactly when the bar closes)? |

You still have to get the timing just right but you can set up a keyboard shortcut to submit an order using the last trade price.
