Hi there,

Just wanted to know if Sierra has plans to "upgrade" the Point and Figure chart features, at least to automatically draw trendlines and calculate target projections automatically too, on the go.

It is very handy to have the target projections from the bases and thrusts, mainly when using the 1 box reversal in fast paced markets.

No, there are no plans for this. We recommend that you develop these yourself. Refer to:

Never gonna happen, no time to learn programming just to make this...

Perhaps gonna hire a programmer in a near future.

Instead of opening another thread, gonna ask here since it is related to the P&F chart.

I have just finished the two books on the subject by Du Plessis.

He says that in order to have a precise indicator plotting on P&F charts we must use logarithmic charts, the ones where we choose a box size in % (like 1% box), instead of by points.

So, in order to have this log chart in Sierra, we need to set this to YES?

Box Size Percentage (%): When Use Percentage of Last Price for Box Size is set to Yes, then this Input controls the percentage that the Point and Figure Box Size will be of the last price in the chart.

Then, all indicators we add to this chart will be based on the P&F chart, not the raw underlying data? When I add moving averages, PSAR, bollinger bands, will those studies be based on the plotted P&F chart?? Because the calculation is different given there is no time axis.

How about the volume study? (will it display the volume for each X O column??)

You guys should take a look at the P&F chart available in that Updata software, it is very good.

Yes.

And you can set a Logarithmic scale through the Scale Settings for the Point and Figure study:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting

The answer is yes to both of these.

Just one more question guys:

What is the best way to configure a square grid on the P&F chart so we can draw perfect 45 degrees trendlines? (each box of the PF staying inside of it's own square on the grid)
