I was not getting my triggers on some scenarios when using the "Price Retracement" tool. I think the "Round to tick size" could possibly NOT be working on it. ______________________________ I marked a price 2879.75 to 2885.75 with a FIB level of 138.2%. The Retracement tool says 138.2% is 2888.00 I have a "Colored Bar based on Alert" to apply an Arrow when the bar HIGH equals the 138.2%. I used the formula "H = ID25.SG1 + (ID25.SG1 - ID25.SG2)*.382" [where ID25 is my range] In my "Colored Bar based on Alert" I have the "Value Format" = .01, and Scale=Automatic. I couldnt figure out why I got my Arrow sometimes when High=138.2, and others not. So, in this case I unclicked the "Round to TickSize" in the "Price Retracement" tool and it=2888.04 I cant think of any other reason except a possible data error. I changed my Alert to >=, and it still doesnt show on a Bar high of 2888.00, but will when High is > 2888.00. Without showing my alerts/charts etc, I figured you could see if theres an error in that tool. Its possible it could be the "Colored Bar based on Alert" tool, but I dont recall NOT getting an alert using other criteria. Anything else it could be? Thx |

?? Seeing more of it. It seems to be an rounding issue. Its not the tool but the "Color based on Alert" tool I think. Even though I have the Value format set to ".01", It doesn't seem to recognize it. For instance, I calculate a value 138.2% of the range=2768.16. This should then calculate to round up to 2768.25 for the tool, correct? But for my "Color based on Alert" tool for this particular instance, when I have the !(138.2% point),whereas I don't want an arrow if its hitting the 138.2%, it is still showing an arrow, when the price is actually hitting 2768.25 So clearly if I have an alert to not show an arrow if it hits the 2768.25 (calculated 138.2%) and it does, its not rounding the 2768.16 up to 2768.25. Correct? |
